Encountering this minimally occupied environment prompted an initial reflection on how one might intervene within a particular architectural setting at a specific moment, using only the materials immediately available, in order to heighten the spectator’s perception and awareness of space.
The presence of these discarded elements became the catalyst for the work, shaping both its conceptual framework and material form. Arch thus marked the beginning of a significant shift in my approach, introducing a mode of thinking that foregrounded the spatial, temporal, and situational conditions of artistic production. Rather than imposing external forms onto a neutral environment, the work sought to emerge from and respond directly to the characteristics of the site itself.

Following this development, I became increasingly attentive to the ways in which individuals occupy and navigate spaces, often without conscious awareness of their spatial surroundings. My subsequent situation-specific installations and interventions have continued to explore this dynamic, aiming to render such spaces perceptible in new ways. In these works, I typically employ pre-existing architectural features, which I then define, accentuate, or exaggerate, allowing the site to articulate its own latent qualities.
As a result, Arch represents a pivotal moment in the evolution of my practice, establishing a methodological and conceptual foundation that continues to inform my work. By engaging directly with the given conditions of a site and foregrounding the experiential dimension of space, my installations seek to encourage a more conscious and critical mode of spatial perception, inviting viewers to reconsider the environments they habitually inhabit.
